Friends,
This article, for preppers and non-preppers alike, includes information that, in part, is unlikely to appear elsewhere, but that we need to know to avoid or minimize some of the coming challenges, as things will get worse before they get better. Thus, this information is timely and important.
I. IMPORTANT BACKGROUND INFORMATION
A. Corrupt control isn’t static.
Corrupt power is continually advancing, incrementally to avoid triggering mass resistance that could undermine the ongoing advance. Small steps are normalized as they’re deployed to make successive steps appear insignificant, enabling control to keep advancing smoothly. With each step false narratives are deepened in both sleeper and aware communities to hide the problems and real solutions, respectively. (See Fear vs. Knowledge for an intro to the underlying manipulation psychology in both communities, information not available anywhere else.)
Elite controllers are as brilliant as they are evil. Control is continually rolled out, in different ways at different times in different places to obscure the big picture and to keep activists pulled in different directions so we never come together in the way required to finally stop the control. This is no accident, of course. We, the aware, must awaken to the next level if we are to ever reach real solutions; and this has nothing to do with our rational minds, as manipulation controls perception—what appears real, true, and logical to us—and that, it turns out, is controlled from subconscious emotions, *not* our intellects. Our rational minds have critical roles to play but can’t reach the proper roles until stepping aside to allow a distinctly non-rational, psychological process to take place (a shift in perception) so our rational minds can “reach” and process the hidden information. (See also Critical Thoughts on Critical Thinking for more insight into aware community cognitive dissonance.) The rational mind doesn’t get to “decide” any of this, as it can’t see or reach the subconscious. So, the only way to know is to explore, to scrutinize carefully things we normally take for granted, to bring into focus, into conscious awareness, that which presently lies outside of our psychological reach. (For info on tools to assist with this process, email marcy0422@vaccinerights.com for an auto-response email with a link)..
B. Prepping is not about weathering temporary hardship.
Prepping isn’t about getting through temporary hard times (though can certainly help with them), for two main reasons:
i) There’s no “normal” to get back to. The world we grew up in was built on lies with corruption that now permeates all levels and aspects of society. The Grand Lies will be exposed gradually over the next several years, but since “awake” is relative—there’s always more to awaken to—even those deepest down the rabbit hole will be shocked by some of what comes out. (God bless those caught completely off guard.) Most critically, the aware community remains fast asleep to real solutions. This is why control accelerates despite more people speaking out; we’re missing the most critical piece (and not by accident).
ii) First world infrastructures are being systematically disassembled to advance control. The WEF and WHO are predicting (read: “announcing what they’re orchestrating”) widespread food shortages, and no wonder given their destruction of 100’s of major farms and food manufacturing plants since Biden took (by corrupt force) office. Entire societal food, energy, and financial systems, among others, are being “phased out” for replacement by new corrupt-control systems. Effective psychological tactics have rendered this unclear to most people in both sleeper and aware communities, so this will keep progressing until it reaches an undeniable in-your-face level before there’s sufficient clarity—next level awakening—to take new, effective action. So, buckle up; the ride’s going to get bumpy for a bit.
Even if there was a “normal” to get back to, it would take decades to rebuild the infrastructure, assuming we first reel in those who presently have the power to prevent that. But this condition also comes with a profound opportunity, that of building a new society rooted in integrity and compassion that, as such, will be radically different from the current and past corruption, fear-driven societal structures. The enormity of rebuilding may initially seem overwhelming, but in the end, the opportunities will dwarf the challenges. The recognition of this will turn rebuilding into a compelling and exciting activity rather than a burdensome one. But the “darkest before the dawn” has yet to arrive. So, buckle up…
C. Opting out isn’t a real option.
The elite’s end goal is Total Control of everyone. Many aware people, seeing the writing on the wall (which must be some wall by this point), are developing alternative systems for food, energy, finance, etc. However, in present conditions these efforts are misguided. They with the power to “suicide” anyone at any time with complete impunity control all primary governmental and corporate systems and resources. With the stroke of a pen, a presidential or gubernatorial executive order can render alternative systems illegal and impose harsh punishments on violators. Those who protest will be jailed (or worse) to scare everyone else into hiding and compliance. Aware community protesters, despite the best of intentions, become unwitting martyrs in service to the elite, not us.
Alternative systems development is allowed for now because it keeps us busy working on projects they will control later when it best serves their needs. Thus, control keeps advancing now with aware people kept busy not stopping that. When most effective for their agenda, controllers will end alternative systems, and abruptly to elicit the greatest possible shock response from within and throughout the aware community, as that will maximize the fear response to powerfully drive us into silence, passivity, and compliance. This is not to say that defiance is wrong, of course, only that our manner of doing it has been ineffective. To understand what’s needed, send an email to windeberry@vaccinerights.com for a link to an 18 min video about a project designed to address this.
Friends, don’t mistake clarity—the fair warning above—for being negative or pessimistic. Many important truths are ugly and uncomfortable. There’s great power in clarity however discomforting it may be. If we allow this discomfort to push us away—mistake uncomfortable clarity for pessimism—we have only ourselves to blame for the ongoing control advancement. But when enough aware people are sufficiently clear about what’s really going on, we can come together in new and different ways to finally, once and for all, reverse the course of advancing control. (To see a short video of the one project designed to do this, email wineberry@vaccinerights.com for an auto-response email with a link.)
Perhaps ironically, alternative systems are ultimately required, because the current system is irreparable, and needs to be replaced with one founded on ethics and compassion, anyway. But until the power that can render all such efforts illegal and punish objectors is neutralized—disarmed, dismantled—all efforts to opt out will just get crushed. So, the most important purpose of prepping is to buy time to employ new tactics to achieve that. Then, and only then, can we move on to the second most important purpose, that of transitioning to a new society in which, at least initially, we’ll have to be mostly if not fully self-reliant. These are not ideas to reflexively accept or reject; they are points to explore, to investigate so that each person can see directly for themselves, as is the case with all true awakening. You can’t give “awake” to anyone. Everyone has to awaken for themselves, because at its core, awakening is an internal process, a shift in perception from which something that was previously rejected as “not real” or “false” (or would have been if encountered) becomes reality or a potential reality. Pro-vaxxers don’t look at our information because our position isn’t a potential reality to them. That’s not about information; it’s about powerful subconscious (thus invisible) survival fear. The same blocks have been implanted throughout the aware community to keep us from being able to reach real solutions. Our intellect can’t fix that; a psychological process is required. That’s why decades of ever greater activism work have always been met by an accelerating agenda, and why this will continue until an extreme control advancement is reached that forcibly imposes this reality on those presently still unclear about it (which is most of us).
The extent to which your prepping plans address the above two points—buying time to reach and implement real solutions (to neutralize the control) and transitioning to local community self-sufficiency followed by the rebuilding of society—is the extent to which those plans will shield you from what’s coming. But that’s just the general overview; many other concerns must be addressed as well, including those listed below. And time is running short...
D. The elite aren’t fighting us.
This is a tough pill to swallow, but we can’t heal from our affliction until we take our medicine (if you’ll forgive the pharma metaphor). The elite aren’t fighting us; they are just managing us as they continually roll out their control agenda planned long ago, little by little, using decades old, time-tested psychological and power/force control tactics. They have to manage us because we’re the only ones trying to stop them. And our decades of ever greater activism work always having been met by advancing control demonstrates how effectively they do that. That we keep thinking we’re making progress or winning while control keeps advancing reveals our own cognitive dissonance.
We vastly underestimate this central component of their arsenal. Most critically, we’re oblivious to its operation on ourselves, which we mistake as “nothing to see here, move along” instead of recognizing just how powerful and insidious it really is. We’re missing the most fundamental part of the equation; and the control will just keep advancing as it’s done for decades now until we awaken to it. Proactive exploration can bring about the necessary perception shift (what you might think of as “next level awakening”), but if we instead insist we’re not manipulated, we unwittingly commit ourselves remaining asleep, to ongoing control advance, and to the default awakener: Severe psychological trauma. That trauma is coming, folks, in the form of ever greater control on all levels, a piece at a time, as the infrastructure disassembly progresses, ever more rapidly now.
Psychological manipulation controls perception—what looks real, true, and logical to us as to specific, targeted ideas—in our case, real solution information. So, we either look beneath some of what appears real, true, and logical to us to find the underlying very different true reality, or we remain in an unwitting illusion that appears as real as anything ever can, a reality invisibly imposed from and through our unseeable and unreachable subconscious minds that keeps control advancing. Friends, manipulation is truly that powerful. Until we awaken to this, we’ll keep “seeing” progress while control keeps advancing, despite the blatant contradiction revealing our cognitive dissonance.
In practical terms, corrupt elite control all the systems we work in. Outcomes are predetermined by powerful psychopathic elite who can “suicide” any opposition with complete impunity. You can’t fix corrupt systems with corrupt systems. Yet, we keep returning to corrupt systems expecting non-corrupt outcomes, oblivious to this practical reality. They throw us occasionally small wins (which we consistently blow way out of proportion; see Landmark Lawsuit? for a classic example) to extend this misperception, keeping us stuck in the “if we just persist a little bit longer and work just a little bit harder we can win” illusion. We’ve been doing that for decades while control goes faster. It’s time to wake up, friends—to the next level, to real solutions…

II. PREPPING RECOMMENDATIONS
1. Not prepping?
If not, you’re not paying attention. Pay more attention. Start prepping. Hard times lie ahead.
2. Start now (if you haven’t already).
It’s never too late. Some prepping is better than none. However, as infrastructure disassembly progresses, getting information and supplies will get harder. The sooner you start, the farther you’ll get.
3. Lack funds?
Prepping ranges from building fully stocked, multi-million dollar underground bunkers to spray-painting empty soda cans black for a makeshift passive solar heater. Foraging costs only time and applies even in some urban environments. Team up with another prepper who has money but no time. Be creative. Welcome the challenge. You can do this.
As Richard Bach’s Jonathan Livingston Seagull put it: “Argue for your limitations and, sure enough, they're yours.” There are no absolute barriers, only challenges of various difficulty. Redirect the powerful energy of anxiety, fear, and panic into resourceful problem solving. Winners aren’t those who never fail, but those who recognize each failure as bringing them one step closer to the win.
4. Lacking time?
Yes, time and money are significant advantages, but any prepping is better than none. There’s no such thing as “prepared,” anyway. The question isn’t “are you done?”, it’s “are you more prepared today than yesterday?” The transition period we’re entering now will very likely outlast everyone alive today. For us, change is the new normal. Once you adapt to that, you’ve accomplished the most important step.
5. Pace yourself.
Prepping can quickly become overwhelming. It’s not a task to do and complete; it’s a transition lifestyle to gradually adjust to, to incorporate ever more fully over time—as gradually or quickly as your circumstances and means may allow. Gradually may be smoothest, but keep in mind that things in the outside world are ramping up more quickly as control advances further.
6. Not a Destination.
Total self-sufficiency is the goal (though that’s presently unattainable; see above discussions), but the immediate goal is to make regular progress, to be further ahead today than yesterday or this week than last week, because no one knows exactly what will happen when that will affect what part of our survival, and where and for whom. So, run when you can but don’t burn yourself out; rest when you must but then keep moving. There’s no hard finish line, so pace yourself.
7. Not a Solution.
Prepping isn’t a permanent solution to anything because all prepping activities can be made illegal with the stroke of an elite puppet’s pen on an emergency executive order, which is coming, folks. But it can become a solution; and it will, once we neutralize the control that otherwise will prevent this from happening. So, it makes sense to approach it as a solution if you recognize, and are prepared to participate in, the coming necessary new actions needed to disarm the massive corrupt elite control power. Stay tuned…
8. No One Makes It Alone.
No one has all the necessary tools, knowledge, time, money, and skills for complete independence. We’ll have to form local community support groups for our mutual survival. We’ll need each other psychologically, too, as we humans are social critters. But it’s best not to put this off until it’s forced upon us, as effective groups take time to form, develop, and reach efficient operational levels. Such groups will also become elite controller targets, as attaining Total Control ultimately requires eliminating all opposition; and all of us are part of that opposition. Remember, Nazi children turned in their own parents; and 20th century Germans were no less intelligent than us. Survival groups will likely be outlawed, infiltrated, and undermined in various other ways. So, it’s critical to begin identifying highly trustable people now, to start forming local support groups now (and/or identifying non-local groups you might later join), because once they become necessary, they will be difficult to form safely. Now is the time to determine ways to operate local support groups safely, to evade and avoid infiltration and other tactics surely to occur as we reach that stage of the greater transition.
9. Be prepared but don’t look prepared.
This is critical. The disassembly of our infrastructure combined with natural and artificial disasters will trigger increasing fear and panic throughout many parts of society. Desperate people’s behavior is not limited by social norms. Even good people, when desperate, will engage in extreme behavior to save their and their children’s lives. Effective prepping anticipates this. People in other countries have died horrible deaths for failing to recognize this harsh reality.
Those who prep “out in the open” will be the most vulnerable to organized attacks (whether by governments or gangs). God bless those providing critical information online, but they do so at their peril. Maximizing your safety requires an outward appearance of “unprepared,” of “suffering like everyone else,” to avoid attack from desperate people. Blend in; stay quiet; tell only the most trusted others, and even then, only as needed, as good people behave unpredictably when they panic. Don’t brag about being prepared, and never post anything about your prepping, even to private groups, as all electronic communications are monitored in real time by advanced A.I. systems (not the baby ones released to the public), analyzed, and recorded. Yes, have compassion, but no one can feed everyone else, so each situation must be viewed on a case-by-case basis. Trust your intuition; you’ll need that increasingly as conditions evolve, and it’s our most powerful asset, anyway. But be realistic; years of prepping becomes wasted time and money if it ends up serving others who take everything from you at gunpoint.
10. Everyone has an online profile.
I hate to break it to you, but the elite already know who we are and have already earmarked each of us as candidates for re-education or elimination (and friends, most of us aren’t reeducation prospects). Unvaxxed people arguing truth to power will be sent to quarantine camps “to protect society” where “unfortunate outbreaks” will occur that are “our own fault.” Friends, we see psychopaths at the helm yet fail to grasp the implications. They have no conscience; they derive pleasure from our suffering and deaths. Control will continue to advance until they are literally, physically, forced to stop, until it becomes literally impossible for them to continue. You can’t reason with a megalomaniacal psychopath.
We lack clarity on who we’re dealing with. They have no other choice but to pull out all the stops, to inflict as much harm, suffering and death on us as they possibly can, because their crimes of treason and genocide are punishable by execution. They will never give in to reason or have a change of heart—they have no heart. And they have some massively powerful, ugly “stops” to “pull out,” as Maui recently showed us, for example.
Murders and “suicides” of outspoken activists are likely to increase in coming months and years as they did with more people speaking out during the (so-called) pandemic. We must awaken to this reality to finally put a real cap on the ever-growing vaccine disability and death rates, the increasing illegal incarcerations, the growing activist body counts, and other evil punishments being increasingly imposed to keep a cap on truth while corrupt control advances.
Consider creating a woke electronic image that says, “hey elite, I’m as woke and manipulated as everyone else!” Run mainstream YouTube videos in the background with the sound off while you check your email, visit mainstream news sites regularly—anything to muddy your “clearly aware and opposed to the elite controllers” current electronic profile, as it just might help delay or avoid a personal attack.
Keep in mind that going abruptly into hiding screams “look at me hiding!” more than it actually hides you. Remember: None of us can avoid all electronic communications, so there’s no way to hide completely, anyway; and as electronic surveillance is now decades old, it’s too late to hide, anyway, in any absolute sense. So, keep your social media accounts active, just start toning down and eliminating oppositional activities; do those outside of group or public visibility. Controllers focus most on that which poses the greatest threat to them: large numbers of people congregating around truth. When we do that in ways they can’t track and manage, it may be effective. When we operate out in the open, we’re easily seen and controlled (invisibly to us). It really is as simple as that.
Finally, understand that exposing the elite will take years to complete. It can’t happen all at once—the shock would be too great even if it could—so it won’t be safe to “come out” even after the first Domino falls. Also understand that this hasn’t started yet. We’ve been “exposing” corruption for decades, yet no corrupt officials have ever been jailed, because the elite control the accountability systems. When a series (not one!) of high-level corrupt officials get jailed or executed, then—but only then—can we consider that we’re finally, genuinely, materially beginning to advance our cause. As long as corrupt people remain in power, any semblance of progress is illusory, as they who are in power pull all the strings. Remember: They throw us crumbs from time to time to keep us waiting around for the meal that never follows. They keep us coming back to corrupt systems expecting non-corrupt outcomes. That’s the power of psychological manipulation—on us.
Be creative. Incorporate decoys, distractions, misdirection—you know, the same tactics they use against us (that we mostly don’t see, and not by accident). For example, a garden is an obvious food source that could become illegal or coopted by local government “for the good of the community,” but individual food plants interspersed among non-food plants may not be so obvious. Non-traditional food plants may not be recognized as a food source at all if not grown in a garden. Apply this concept throughout your prepping. Continually ask: “How can my prepping not look like prepping? How can it be hidden or unrecognized if seen?”
11. Get out of the city.
Yes, this is very difficult for many people, but quarantine camp is a lot worse. Time to wake up to the extreme severity of what we’re dealing with. Get out of your head, folks. Don’t put this off; at some point, it will be too late. Einstein left Germany for America just in time; shortly after, no one was allowed out. Learn from the past. Adapting to ongoing change is essential. The more we insist things go our way, the more difficult our lives will become.
The elite goal is to control everyone, but that can’t happen all at once. Targeting densely populated areas gets them the most bang for their buck. They’ll attack some sparsely populated regions as well to ensure that no one feels safe—to maximize fear everywhere (as that’s where their control comes from)—but the more populous regions are less safe.
12. Determine now what will matter then.
In a prolonged emergency (which is coming), some things become less important, some things more. Continually ask: “What little things would be big if no longer available? What big things won’t matter so much? What present needs have substitutes? Which ones don’t?” Etc.
13. Know your consumption rate.
Determine how long various foods and supplies last, for balanced prepping. Putting a date label on a bag of beans to see how long it lasts may seem silly, but having beans later won’t be. Additionally, monitoring your consumption now makes you more conscious of it, which leads to more efficient consumption, saving you money now. Do this with lots of things and the savings adds up, leaving more prepping money.
14. Prep for now and the future.
Prepping for hypothetical future events is a fear driven activity. A rational fear, yes, but fearful, nonetheless. But some prepping can serve you now. Don’t store survival food in case you need it later. Buy in bulk and put some at the back of your survival food “line” while you draw from the front of that line for present needs. Gradually extend the length of that line so you’re covered for ever longer periods while we can still do that. Don’t tuck away seeds in case you need them; start growing food now and saving seeds from that (or do both). You’ll learn and save as you go, which helps you now and later. Apply this concept throughout your prepping whenever possible.
If you take away nothing else from this article, hear this:
Those caught completely off guard will suffer most. Those prepping to weather temporary hardships, the next most; those prepping to buy time to implement real solutions and then transition to self-reliance, the least, if they also address other appropriate concerns discussed here and elsewhere.
15. Collect Survival Information.
Survival information will become a valuable commodity as it’s increasingly needed and less accessible, an inevitability as control advances. Internet access will come with increasing restrictions on its use as critical information is increasingly removed or blocked, for example. There’s always more to learn, so build a personal library.
Take the “teach a person to fish” approach. Keep physical and electronic copies of books, as electrical power may become increasingly unreliable as the infrastructure disassembly progresses, while physical books can be impractical to transport or keep track of if shared.
16. Experience matters.
The best teachers are those with real survival experience. The best ideas reveal unseen bugs when applied. Experience matters—profoundly where survival is concerned. Many foreign countries have already gone through versions of what’s coming to us here in America. Find out who lived through those hard times and who didn’t—and why.
17. Deception is increasing. Be wary, accordingly.
The survival market has boomed in recent years and will surely continue to do so for as long as there’s an infrastructure supporting it. BUT THE ELITE CONTROL THIS, TOO. Many “sounds good” survival schemes are scams, elite misdirection and disinformation. There are people trying to help, too, but recognize that we’re being hit with a mixture of the two, and that the bad stuff is brilliantly disguised to appear credible.
With or without evil intent, bad products are marketed with the same “maximize sales” marketing hype as good ones. Look past the hype and scrutinize. For example, large, portable batteries promoted to “run everything in your house” don’t run a/c systems or anything that generates heat (dryers, heaters, etc.) well as they require too much power (unless you have a wall full of Telsa battery packs and solar panels covering your roof). So, back-up heat must come from other sources for most of us.
18. Survival skills are a valuable commodity.
Like survival information, survival skills and experience will become increasingly valuable. Identify the ones that will be most important in self-sufficient times, and which ones you have or can develop; and which ones you’ll need to rely on others for, so you can start figuring out now who has them. Farming, sewing, first aid, herbalism, alternative medicine, repair, etc.
19. Stock survival tools.
Build and continually expand your tool collection. Include redundancy so you’re not caught off guard when one breaks or is lost or stolen. Factor in unreliable grid power—e.g., consider both manual and electronic tools, corded and battery-operated ones, etc. Diversity and redundancy across the prepping spectrum will maximize survivability.
20. Practice minimalism.
Make this a game, for fun and to save money now. Determine how little water, electricity, and other consumables you can use without cramping your lifestyle (though knowing your tolerance levels below that is good information to have, too). This saves money now while informing you with respect to future times of limited resources. The more you look for this, the more you discover what an incredibly wasteful society we are. While some individual savings are insignificant, collectively, little ones add up. For example, you can run the shower for 30 seconds to get wet; lather up with it off; and rinse in another minute or so. Doing that with only ½ of your showers can save thousands of gallons of water annually.
21.Prep in layers and levels.
As much as possible, have backups to your backups. If one layer/level fails for any reason—breaks, becomes illegal, gets stolen—you’re still good. Put all your eggs in one basket only where you find no other possibility (even then, keep looking) to minimize your vulnerability.
22. Store necessities in different places.
Don’t store anything in obvious places unless creating a decoy to cover for the rest hidden elsewhere. If desperate people see one stash, they may not look further (desperate people are often in a hurry). If you can store some things accessibly off site, all the better; unseen or in inaccessible (to others) altogether, all the better.
23. Take care of your mental health.
A. Managing fear and anxiety: This may be the most important thing on this list, as our mental-emotional state underlies everything else—how we see and respond to events playing out in the world, how we manage ourselves and our immediate situations. The world’s going to get crazier before it gets more sane, so the importance of this can’t be overstated.
More change is coming, and even good changes are stressful. Plan accordingly. We’re not preparing for temporary discomfort; we’re starting a decades-long transition (generations long depending on how you define it), and the most difficult part will be the next few years, the coming “darkest before the dawn” period where the elite pull out all the stops to hold out for as long as possible. Trauma can be debilitating, so it’s best to avoid or minimize it as much as possible—and to recognize that this is going to become a serious and widespread challenge. Don’t wait for change to be imposed; engage in proactive change, now, so you’ll adapt more readily to what’s coming.
B. Balance is essential. Make non-intellectual activities a regular part of your life. Seek out humor and inspiration, be more grateful and creative, spend more time daydreaming, and trust your intuition more. These non-intellectual “feeling” activities mitigate fear and anxiety, something we’re all dealing with increasingly as ever more corrupt control is increasingly imposed on us.
C. Survivor’s guilt: This is a real and challenging condition suffered by people who survive traumatic events that others didn’t. We’re already dealing with this from COVID shots, but as control advances this will only get worse. Exploring survivor’s guilt ahead of time may serve you well in the months and years ahead.
Keep in mind that as the need for mental health services increases (as it already has, substantially, and will continue to do for some time), mental health professionals will be in greater demand while, at the same time, becoming less available, for they, too, will be victims of increasing trauma. So, self-administered healthcare (psychological and otherwise) will become the norm. Recognize and prepare for this.
D. Managing fear. A wise person once noted that brave people aren’t those without fear, but those who act despite their fear. Indeed, human behavior is driven by subconscious survival fear. So, fear isn’t an option; it’s hardwired into our psyches, a part of our innate, automatic psychological survival mechanism. They who believe they are fearless merely demonstrate how easy it is to suppress fear into our subconscious, where it is lies invisible yet still powerfully driving our conscious perception and behavior.
So, the practical task is to manage fear, to keep it sufficiently low, as much as possible, to minimize its power over us, as it colors all that we see and do in accordance with its level of intensity (and it often does this invisibly from our subconscious, so it can be tricky to manage). Think: Counterbalance. See the above list: humor, creativity, imagination, daydreaming, etc.
24. Practice and rehearse.
The simplest tasks can have unforeseen complications. Problem-solving under stress is difficult. Be ahead of the game. Practice and rehearse ahead of time. Turn the power off for a weekend mid-winter and mid-summer. Live without running water for a day or two. Eat for a day or two without using the stove or dishwasher. Fast from time to time. Start a fire without a lighter or matches. Make a game out of this. But avoid, as much as possible, having to dive into something for the first time while under pressure. Become an experienced survivalist before you’re forced to be a practicing one.
25. Distinguish preference from necessity.
Fasting one day/month reduces food consumption and cost by 3%; one day/week by 14%; and it comes with health benefits. (There are fasts for people with blood sugar concerns; see the Master Cleanse, for example.) Showering every other instead of daily day cuts water usage in half. Apply this concept throughout your current lifestyle and prepping.
26. Have a bugout plan.
This is a greater concern if you live in an area prone to unmanageable unrest in difficult times or that’s more vulnerable to attack by desperate gangs. Be prepared to leave quickly with bare essentials if needed. Research what others in real life emergencies needed but didn’t have and had but didn’t need. There’s no one-size-fits-all, but informed choices are the ideal.
27. Don’t underestimate desperate people.
“Expect the best but plan for the worst” may be the wisest approach.
28. Small things matter.
Some of the most helpful things are some of the smallest and least expensive if gotten ahead of time: rubber bands (silicone rubber bands may last longer and do well in extreme heat and cold); metal and plastic clips; containers of different types and sizes (jars, bags, boxes, etc.); electrical and non-electrical chords; duct tape; cloth, needles, and thread; scrap paper and cardboard; various small tools (box cutters, stapler, ruler, protractor, miniature screwdriver set); etc. As we come into new and more challenging situations, we’ll find new and unexpected problems needing a wider variety of tools, in addition to the more obvious standard ones.
29. Plan and prioritize.
This seems obvious, but effective prepping requires a plan; and effective plans require ongoing revision as conditions change. Be flexible. Hang your comfort on your growing ability to adapt to change rather than your ability to force new situations into past molds and former expectations. Consider what others will need or want, too. Some things that are inexpensive now may become highly prized and valuable once they’re no longer available. Stock up accordingly.
30. Organize.
Organize as you go; it can save you considerable time, minimize waste, and avoid headaches and errors. Keep track of what you have and what you still need or want.
31. Be flexible and kind to yourself.
Learn to laugh at yourself. We’re entering uncharted waters, so we’re going to make a lot of mistakes. That’s how we learn. Get over it now so it doesn’t hold you back later. If you can’t get over it, then just get over not being able to get over it. Seriously. Chill is a skill (not a pill) that when missing can kill. (You may quote me on that…)
The next best thing to perfection is fast recovery from mistakes. Nelson Mandela reportedly said: “I never lose. I either win or I learn.” We learn from our mistakes, though it’s probably best not to overdo that.
Here’s to the coming Grand Adventure awaiting us all, different though that will be for each of us. Trust that beyond the coming hardships lies something as bright as the dark is dark, for ours is a dualistic universe. There’s no up without a down, no push without a pull, no darkness without light. But the “darkest before the dawn” will precede the bright light to follow. So, buckle up; it’s going to be one helluva ride.
In gratitude,
